Rain Water Harvest (RWH)

Preventing run-off and accumulating the rainwater to replenish it for re-use, we provide the best rainwater harvesting solutions. With the use of latest technology and premium grade materials, we ensure optimum performance and high functionality of our products. The collected rainwater can be utilized in various ways or directly for recharge purposes.

The Technology of rain water harvesting

Rainwater harvesting implies to the process wherein the rainwater running off surfaces upon which it has fallen directly is immediately collected and stored. It can be divided broadly into two categories based on the purpose of collection and the source of collecting water.

  • Roof top harvesting
  • Run off harvesting

Roof top harvesting

In Rooftop Harvesting, the catchment area is the rooftop in rural and urban parts. It could be a rooftop of houses, flats, factories, offices, buildings, and other complexes.

Runoff harvesting

In runoff harvesting, the water is collected from the areas like gardens, driveways, landscapes, open fields, parks, roads, pavements and every other accessible area of the environment where the rainwater runoffs and can be harvested for further utilization.

Under runoff harvesting, the water can be collected from larger areas, especially in those parts that experience low rainfall.

Components of rain water harvesting

Rainwater harvesting from the different forms of the roof is one of the most feasible ways. The most preferred roofs for rainwater harvesting include tiles roofs or roofs sheeted with mild corrugated steel. They are easy to use and ensure the collection of clean water.

Other than this, thatched and palm leaves are also preferable for rainwater harvest. However, they are difficult to clean, and the chances of tainting the runoff are also high. It is advised to avoid asbestos and lead-painted surfaces for this purpose.

Gutters and pipes

Gutters and pipes are the most feasible components in a rooftop system that can be used for the collection of water and its storage to the storage tanks. The pipes and gutters made up of PVC are the best; however; those made up of metal can also be used.

Filters

Filters are essential to remove the debris, filth, and trash that may come up with the rooftop water. There are different types of filters that can be used to prevent waste to enter and debris in the storage tank.

  • Mesh filters
  • First-flushing devices
  • Sediment discharge tap

Storage facility

The storage tank is the most important component in which the collected water is stored for further use or processing. Storage tanks come in different size and shape like cylindrical, rectangular, hex-angular or square and could be constructed with the materials like reinforced cement concrete (RCC), Ferro cement, masonry plastic or metal sheets.

The storage tanks can be placed at a place where the collection of water is most feasible and easy. It could be above the ground, partly grounded or entirely underground.
